This page is dedicated to special children whose families teach and instill kindness and compassion towards all animals, but especially to the less fortunate Boxer dogs of Florida.

Please email us at info@flbr.org if you know of a special child who is doing something thoughtful, selfless, generous and creative to help Boxers in need.

Mick (left) and Audrey (right) showed their fundraising skills with a lemonade stand to make money to help the Boxers of Florida Boxer Rescue, Inc. Samantha, their neighbor, came to help out.

Mick and Audrey's family has three Boxers and are proud 'foster flunkies', meaning they started out fostering a boxer, but then couldn't say goodbye so they adopted him. Their Boxers are Tank, Trixie, and Buster. Tank slowed down just long enough to get in the picture!

Thank you for your help Mick, Audrey and Samantha. The Boxers of FBR send boxer slurps and many thanks!

Spencer's Story

Six year old Spencer is a remarkable boy. Last year his family became 'foster flunkies' when they adopted the boxer they were fostering. Now they're fostering another boxer, a sweet little girl named T.C. (Too Cute!). Spencer was hooked from his very first kiss from T.C. and now plays an important role in her care. By the way.....this is the family's third boxer; they also have a yorkie maltese mix.

Spencer is so proud of T.C. and when his mom takes her to the vet, Spencer goes too. He understands that it's NOT ok to hurt or mistreat animals, and that you must treat them with the love and respect they deserve.

Spencer turned 6 on June 1 and asked everyone to donate to Florida Boxer Rescue in lieu of giving him gifts at his birthday party. These 'gifts' amounted to more than $200!

Thank you Spencer for helping Florida Boxer Rescue take care of the boxers we all love so much!

Here is a photo and email we received from a caring FL teacher and her fantastic students:

"For Earth Day, I read my fourth grade class a book about a group of kids that recycled cans and used the money they earned to plant flowers in their park. After reading the book, my class wanted to start a recycling drive as well. The next thing they had to do was think about what they wanted to do with the money they earned from the cans. They unanimously decided they wanted to send the money to Boxer Rescue. You see, they had heard Ruff’s story and seen his pictures. We talked about what your organization does and how the animals come into your care. Needless to say, they managed to collect 61 pounds of cans for a total of $45.75. I am sending the money they earned via Paypal to go towards Roxy’s surgery and rehabilitation. Thanks!

~Mrs. Zier-Swafford"

Message to the students from the volunteers at FBR, Inc.:

HUGE Boxer slurps and thanks to all of the students in Mrs. Zier-Swafford's fourth grade classroom for their thoughtful idea for raising funds to help the abandoned Boxer dogs in our rescue program. We could not save these dogs if it weren't for caring people like you to help us!

Roxy and Ruff say "thank you" also. Have a great, safe summer!

Below you will find a letter we received in March of 2008:

"Dear Florida Boxer Rescue,

I love Boxers.  When I found out about your organization, I decided to have a fund-raiser at my school.  A few friends and I sold rubber band bracelets for a week to raise money.  My mom said she would match whatever we raised.  We sold a lot of bracelets and raised $12.00.  We are sending a check for $24.00.  We just read Ruff’s story.  It was very heartbreaking.  I hope you find him a good home.  Give him some extra hugs and kisses from me.

       Skylar J."

Message to Skylar from FBR:

Skylar, every volunteer at Florida Boxer Rescue wants to thank you for your creative idea to help the Boxers in our program who have been abandoned by their families. We are so proud of you (and your mom and friends, too)! Ruff's new mom will give him a big kiss just from you! We'd love to meet you someday and hope you can visit us at one of our events so we can thank you in person. Thanks so much for your hard work and generous donation! You are truly a special kid that helps Boxers!

A little girl celebrated a recent birthday by having all her party guests bring supplies for FBR Boxers instead of birthday presents for her! Impressive, eh? Her letter and photos from the party are coming soon.
