Abbie

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 55 pounds
Contact: Amanda P
Adopted: 5/4/10
FBR#: F10-062

Comments: 4/7/10: Hello, my name is Abbie and I am a happy, petite little girl. I recently made it to my foster home with two other boxers. I get pretty jealous when they're anywhere near my foster dad. He's working on it with me though so I can learn to be a calm and submissive boxer girl. My previous owner surrendered my buddy Harley and me to Osceola Animal Services. We both have heartworms, which is very expensive. But, now that we're with Florida Boxer Rescue, we'll be nursed back to great health before adoption. So, check back and then I'll be ready to meet my new family. I hope it's you!

Adopted: 4/10/10
FBR#: OS10-004

Comments: 3/22/10: Hi, My name is Achillas. I need to find a new home so let me tell you about myself.

I am 4 years old and I like kids and other dogs. I am an inside dog and housebroken. When my parents go to work I have free roam of the house and do fine. I know some basic commands and don't really have any bad habits. I sleep in the bed with my dad. Me and my sister need a new home, so look at Diamond also while visiting this site. We would like to stay together if possible, we are bonded and get along great. In the picture, I'm the handsome boxer on the right...that's my sister Diamond on the left.

Amara

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Coloring: White
Weight: 50 pounds
Contact: Angie K
Adopted: 1/18/10
FBR#: F09-202

Comments: Update 1/20/10: Amara needs to be placed in a home with another dog for companionship. She has never been an only dog and shows signs of stress when there is not another dog with her.

Update 12/22/09: Amara is a very loving and affectionate boxer girl. She has plenty of energy, but is not uncontrollable, and is eager to please. She loves everyone that she meets, regardless of age, and really enjoys human interaction. Amara is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever been around. She loves to take walks and has no problem running either. [more]

Adopted: 2/12/10

Annie

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Coloring: Fawn
Weight: 45 pounds
Contact: Patty L
Adopted: 7/10/10
FBR#: F10-035

Comments: Update 5/28/10: Greetings from Annie! I am whole lot more self assured now so I can speak for myself. I came into Boxer rescue a pretty sad and afraid little girl, but those days are behind me now! I play with the other dogs and I'm not afraid. I have made one real good friend and his name is Stubbs. He helps me with some of my uncertainty and I would love to go to a new home with him. I could probably be okay without him though, but we've gotten pretty used to each other. Check out our story here.

2/28/10: Annie was found as a stray by her last owner. She lived with two other dogs and a cat, with which she was fine. From the pictures Annie appears to be young, although she is reported to have had puppies. She very much is a cuddly little girl who would benefit from having someone around quite a bit. [more]

Apollo

Age: 2-3 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: White
Weight: 71 pounds
Contact: Veronica J
Adopted: 5/22/10
FBR#: F10-017

Comments: Update 4/27/10: Apollo is a big sweetheart. Apollo can't hear, but he does understand basic hand commands. He is house and leash trained... loves to go on walks. He loves to go for car rides, too!! Apollo's ideal home will have another dog and no small children, as they can easily startle him due to his deafness. Look at those eyes...pleading to go to a real home, with a family to love and take care of him forever. He may not hear you when you come home, but he's sure super excited when he notices you are there. Sorry, but if you are looking for a guard dog, I'm not it, but if you are looking for a forever buddy, that's who I am! =) .... Apollo [more]

Age: 6 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Flashy fawn
Weight: 78 pounds
Contact: Patty L
Adopted: 6/29/10
FBR#: F10-064

Comments: Update 5/28/10: Bentley is the biggest sweetheart you’ll ever meet! He is housebroken, crate trained and walks well on the leash, but his preference is to curl up with you nearby and be your best companion and friend. Bentley, who is such a distinguished fellow, is rather selective about his canine friends, so would prefer just you as his family. He is good with kids but not cats. If you’re looking for a new best friend please come and meet this fine Boxer boy – he will provide you with many years of love and affection. [more]

Blu

Age: 6 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 55 pounds
Contact: Iris S
Adopted: 1/23/10
FBR#: F09-208

Comments: 11/25/09: Blu was left at the shelter overnight with no records or history. He is very thin with signs of wear and tear on his hind quarters. He is so pleasant and sweet. He is housebroken and walks well on a leash. At present he is living with an elder male, 2 cats, big kids, little kids and a mailman. He's alert and friendly with no food issues. In less than 24 hours in our home he is adjusted and calm and living amongst us with free rein of the house. We are very pleased with his rapid adjustment to our family. He needs to be neutered and fattened up. His face is not scarred or worn. He has beautiful eyes and is eager to learn and please. Won't you welcome this handsome boy into your home for the holidays?.

Age: 3 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Fawn
Weight: 65 pounds
Contact: Patty L
Adopted: 6/3/10
FBR#: OS10-008

Comments: 5/28/10: My sister Layla and I have grown up together since we were puppies in the same litter. We share our home with two other dogs, a cat and a varied assortment of other animals AND a little girl. My mom's son is quite ill and now we have to find a new home. I protect my home and play with all the others there. Sometimes I can be a little protective of my food, and I need a bit of leash training. I'm a happy boy who is healthy and up to date on all my vetting. I prefer to stay with my sister Layla, but could be persuaded to go it alone if the right family comes along. I love to play.

Brody

Age: 5-6 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Flashy brindle
Weight: 60 pounds
Contact: Patty L
Adopted: 1/21/10
FBR#: F06-033ra

Comments: Update 12/14/09: Hi Everyone! My name is Brody, and I have been with my foster home since the first of November, and I am doing great! I had some dental surgery about two months ago but I am completely recovered! We think I have a wheat allergy, so I have been eating some organic, wheat-free food and it has helped my itching tremendously! I love to play with my yellow rubber barbell and my Pug brother and American Eskimo sister. I am completely house broken and leash trained. I know how to shake, sit, and dance. I also just learned how to balance a tennis ball on my nose! I could play all day if you are up to it, otherwise I am more than happy to just lay on the couch or in bed with you and cuddle! I enjoy bird and squirrel watching from the patio, and I "MOOOO" like a cow when I want attention. With a proper introduction I am good with other dogs and have no aggression towards people or children.

Please fill out an application if you want to meet me!!![more]

Brooke
Age: 6 years
Gender: Female
Coloring: Flashy fawn
Weight: 70 pounds
Contact: Claire G
Adopted: 7/11/10
FBR#: F04-235rb

Comments: 6/30/10: Brooke was rescued in 2004 and adopted by a family who just recently had to give her up due to unfortunate circumstances. Brooke is a sweet girl who right now is scared, timid and lost. She has been through a lot in a few days losing her family and male boxer companion. She will fit into a family who is willing to give her love, understanding and exercise as she needs to lose a few pounds. It seems exercise wasn't part of her routine but needs to be in the future. Brooke loves kids, would do best with another dog and does not need to be crated. Please consider giving this girl a new home!

Brooke

Age: 21 months
Gender: Female
Coloring: Fawn
Weight: 50 pounds
Contact: Kelly B
Adopted: 3/31/10
FBR#: F10-049

Comments: 3/30/10: Brooke is a sweet girl that is ready for her new home. Brooke came into rescue with heartworms that have been treated and is completely vetted. Brooke likes male dogs better than females, loves kids and is housebroken. She will stay in her crate when you leave the house and has free roam when her foster parents are in the house.

Brooke tends to have a higher prey drive; she does not like cats or squirrels. Brooke likes to play and has puppy energy.

Brooke Anne

Age: 4-5 years
Gender: Female
Coloring: Flashy fawn
Weight: 43 pounds
Contact: Veronica J
Adopted: 4/1/10
FBR#: F10-012

Comments: Update 3/10/10: Hello everyone, it has been about 6 weeks since the last time I was able to speak to you. I have been getting treatment for my heartworm, it has not really been a walk in the park. I had my 2nd treatment one week ago. I have to go back to the doctor in a few weeks and then he will know if I am all better. I want to play soooo bad, but I do as my foster Mom and Dad tell me. They say, settle down baby, touch my back and I calm right down. The doctor says I need to be calm and no running around. I am told I am a very good girl, I never go potty in the house, I go in my crate when everyone goes to work, and just wait until they get home. I am very gentle, and I like the kitty they have here. She wants to play with me but I know I can't right now. Please check back in a few weeks and see how I am doing. I hope to be ready for my forever home soon, will you be the home for me? [more]

Bruce

Age: 4-5 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 55 pounds
Contact: Sam
Adopted: 8/8/10
FBR#: F10-109

Comments: Update 7/20/10: Mom says I am so sweet and a very gentle boy that loves everyone and everything. I now weigh 70 pounds and look great. The vet says I am perfect. FLBR and my foster mom care so much about me and all of the other boxers that come their way. I am a very laid back boy. I must admit, I do love my Phoebe. We play all the time, most of the time I let her be the bossy one...it's fun. We do take turns pinning each other down when we play. The other day my foster mom's Rylie and Phoebe had me pinned down when we were playing. I was surprised, because if you know Rylie...he hasn't walked in over a year and his back legs do not work. He has the doggie version of MS. So I let him help my Phoebe wrestle me to the ground. He's a cool old Boxer. Please consider giving Phoebe and me a Furever home together. [more]

Brutus

Age: 6 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Flashy fawn
Weight: 67 pounds
Contact: Marilynette
Adopted: 5/5/10
FBR#: F10-025

Comments: Update 3/16/10: Brutus here! If you’re looking for just a good old fashioned Boxer boy, I’m the ticket! I hear a lot of noise about dogs who get it into their head that they want to be something called “pack leader” and that confuses me. I just want you to tell me what to do – isn’t that the way it’s supposed to work? You lead and I’ll gladly follow – but you’ve got to be a good leader. I get along with all other dogs, and there’s a couple of cats that hang out at the camp – they’re alright – if they don’t bother me, I won’t bother them. I like kids well enough, but they’re just a little too hyper and noisy for my taste. Like I say, I’m an old fashioned sort of guy, I want to hang out with you, go for walks, play a little, and then take a nice nap. If you’ve got another pup in the house, that’s cool too – I rather like to box and mix it up a bit. Take a look at my camp videos – I’m the strikingly handsome one – you can’t miss me. And, by the way, I’m astonishingly healthy so we won’t be running up any big vet bills – I hear those guys are ex-pen-sive. [more]

Update 3/6/10: Brutus here! Take a look at my camp videos!

Here's me in group play
And here I am outside with the group
Oh, here I am at outside play
And here's me enjoying a quiet day at camp

Gender: Male
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 40 pounds
Contact: Angie K
Adopted: 2/16/10
FBR#: F10-021

Comments: Update 2/10/10: Buster has put on some weight and looks great - his bones are no longer protruding! Buster is not having any accidents in his kennel overnight, but still has 1 or 2 accidents a day in the house. However, He's very good about going on the tile floor and not on the rug, so the clean up is much much easier.

Buster is super playful. He loves stuffed animals and likes to steal shoes. Sometimes he'll bring 4 of them out of the closets and into the livingroom before we even notice :-)

Buster is almost done with his medication for his kennel cough. Although he still has a slight cough, he's much better than last week. [more]

Update 7/28/10: I'm ready to go, pick me, pick me, I'm ready to go!! I finished all my heartworm treatments and I'm ready to go to my forever home. I've lived with my foster brother Tyson for almost 6 months now and we have the best time playing and boxing so if you have a Boxer-boy for me to live with I'd be sooooo happy!

Update 5/6/10: Good news everybody! My kidney infection is all cleared up and I'm going to start my heartworm treatment at the end of May. By the end of June I'll be looking for my forever home and I can't wait! And I know you guys can't see it in my pics, but guess what? I have a tail, so if you like tails better than nubs, please check me out. [more]

Weight: 60 pounds
Contact: Claire G
Adopted: 4/17/10
FBR#: F10-044

Comments: Update 3/20/10: Chan has one of the best over-all dispositions I have ever known. He is gentle, lovable and calm. Chan understands and responds immediately to the commannds sit, shake and stay. He walks well on a leash and is very well behaved in cars. He's playful with most toys, responds well to children and is extremely easy to handle. Chan is what you call a true gentleman.

3/15/10: I had to leave my home because my dummy fur brother got in trouble and dogs were no longer welcome there. So I am at a new foster place and get to sleep indoors for a change. I'm a real snuggler with any person - big or small. I have manners and know how to sit and stay and shake paws. I listen well and love to be loved! More info to come after I get a chance to show my stuff to this new foster home!

Adopted: 1/24/10
FBR#: F09-158

Comments: Update 10/17/09: Hi again, Chip here! Just wanted to let everyone know I'm almost done with my heartworm treatments and I'm doing well. I've been enjoying my new foster home; I have a fur sister (more like a fur Grandma, she's so old) but we get along fine, she's just not as rambuncious as I am.....hee, hee. And I have a fur cousin they call a cat. I couldn't care less about her but she really likes to pick at me! The neighbor kids are fun to play with when I can, and I'm hoping my forever family has a little boy (or girl) to play with. And I'd really like a family that has a Mom that can stay home with me cuz I HATE it when my foster family leaves me, even in my crate...I'm an escape artist! I don't like to be alone... I was alone for so long. Well, have to go find someone to lick!!!! see ya later! [more]

Chopper

Age: 7 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Flashy fawn
Weight: 75 pounds
Contact: Veronica
Adopted: 7/18/10
FBR#: F10-046

Comments: Update 3/30/10: I now have a wonderful foster home with a boxer brother to play with. The nice lady who took me to my foster said I am wonderful! beautiful! and very well trained! She said that I am very laid back (whatever that means). My owners had to give up all of their canine companions, so I have lost my little bullie brother as well. I was told that I am great with little kids, leave cats alone, and get along with most everyone, even other dogs. I will have to be vetted soon, but then I will be ready for my new home. Would you like an older brother for your kids or companion animals? I'm your boy!

3/17/10: Chopper is a handsome big boy who is losing his home after 7 years. He is crate trained, has had obendience training, and walks well on a leash. Chopper is good with dogs, except small dogs, but he does like cats and small children. More to come on this handsome boy when he finds a foster home.

Comments: Update 12/12/09: Hello. I am a really enjoying being in a stable home. My foster family really likes having me around. I get along great with their female boxer. They say I am a low-maintenance pup. I like to sleep a lot, but if you want to take me for a walk or a jog, I'll really like to go with you.

I am quiet most of the time, but if someone is around the house I'll give them a healthy deep bark to let them know I am here.

I hope you have a place for me in your family.

12/3/09: Cleatus was camera shy but a very nice boy. Cleatus lived with small dogs and he's good with females but not comfortable with males his own size. [more]

Adopted: 8/1/10
FBR#: F10-129

Comments: 7/14/10: Cool Hand Duke is a beautiful well-mannered boy with a sweet, easy-going personality. He likes to sit, stay, shake, and is great with our 2 young children. He has also gotten along well with our 3 year old male boxer. The first day we got him, he went on a boat ride and had a bath in the river and loved it. He did get out our front door (my kids forgot to close it) and came right back when we called him. He seems very loving, and is great company and playmate to our other dog. I crate him at night, and he doesn't seem to mind it a bit.

Daisy
Age: 3 years

Contact: Veronica J
Adopted: 1/16/10
FBR#: OS09-037

Comments: 12/12/09: Meet Daisy! She is very lovable and sweet, and she loves all people and kids and all dogs. She is just very happy to be alive. Daisy also loves her bone and her toys and will entertain herself when need be. She walks very well on a leash and is crate-trained. Daisy knows lots of tricks: sit, stay, rollover, high five, and shake. She loves Milkbone dog biscuits. Although Daisy doesn't live with kids right now, sheis good with them when she meets them. Daisy has been with her current owners for 9 months; she was given to them, but now they find themselves working 13 hours a day and they know that Daisy would like to be in a home where she has more time with her humans. If you can provide that home, maybe Daisy is the girl for you!

Dakota (aka Jameson)
Age: 11 months
Gender: Male
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 56 pounds
Contact: Sandy C
Adopted: 2/14/10
FBR#: F09-141rb
Comments: 1/8/10: Dakota is back in the building! He has finished "Doggie Bootcamp" and is ready for his forever home. Dakota is a young boy who needs a strong pack leader so as not to reverse the training he has had. He is very well behaved and will not jump at the door, he sits for his treats, and he walks very well on a leash. Dakota is potty and crate trained, and as long as his training is reinforced this will continue. He plays well with our resident boxers who are seniors, and knows when to stop. I believe he will do best in a home with another boxer as he follows my male around. I also believe with the right introduction he should do well with a cat; I do not own one but he shows only curosity towards the cats he sees own our walks; basically he looks at them and walks away. He will make a great addition to any family and he has the cutest kidney bean wiggle--his whole body shakes !! [more]

Comments: 2/1/10: Dakota is a young energetic boxer with no 'cosmetic surgery!' In other words, she has a natural tail that curls at the end when she walks around the yard exploring. She gets along with her boxer brother and one boxer sister. She seems to be submissive at this point to other dogs. We are still getting to know her and will keep you posted.

Dali

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Reverse brindle
Weight: 60 pounds
Contact: Sandy
Adopted: 6/27/10

Comments: Update 6/23/10: Check out our new pics of Dali. He is a handsome reverse brindle and now weighs 76 pounds. Dali has finished his treatment for the yucky hookworms and is ready to go!! Dali is a calm boxer who would do very well with a female around his age to play with. He is residing with two seniors and is very respectful of them. Dali is laidback yet when a young girl comes to play he is all puppy again. Dali has only jumped on one person, chews only the toys given to him and is good on a leash. He enjoys walks but not running. Dali is a very intellegent boxer and a sensitive boy. He is truly out to make you happy!! [more]

6/7/10: More to come about Dali soon from his new foster family.

I love to play with my skin brothers and even met some mini skin kids...mom says they are two. I like most dogs but I especially prefer the ladies. Sometimes other males are too much for me. I am ready for my forever home. Do you have a place in your home and heart for a laid back guy like me that likes to play ball every now and then?

Update 1/22/10: I was in such bad shape when FBR pulled me in, but now I AM HEALTHY AS A HORSE! If you are looking for a laid back, gorgeous Boxer boy, then I am your man. I like to play outside with my skin brothers and enjoy nice walks too. Won't you come visit me? [more]

Dane

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Reverse brindle
Weight: 75 pounds
Contact: Jacquie A
Adopted: 4/4/10
FBR#: F10-051

Comments: 3/30/10: Dane is a beautiful 2-year-old boxer boy. He was surrendered to FBR due to his owner's health. He was raised with other dogs, kids and a cat, so Dane is friendly to all. He is getting along great with the foster boxer brother and sister as well. He will need some training for leash walking. The prior owner stated that Dane knows to go outside, will ask to go out if someone is home, but will use the tile floor if no one is home. The prior owner had just started crate training prior to surrender and the foster family is going to continue the crate training as needed. Dane is not up-to-date on his shots but will be visiting the FBR vet today... more information will be available afterward. Dane is a gorgeous young boy that would love a family that has time for exercise, and he would be thrilled with a four-legged companion.

Contact: Veronica J
Adopted: 2/26/10
FBR#: F09-165

Comments: Update 1/10/10: Dexter has had his allergy blood test and based on those results, we know the kind of home that would be best for him. Is this your home?

Dexter needs a non-smoking home with no carpet, just wood, tile or other non-dust collecting hard surfaces. There shouldn't be a lot of knick-knacks and/or stuffed animals that retain dust. His yard should be St. Augustine grass with no Pine or Palm trees. His life-long diet should be grain-free. Dexter is going to see another vet to determine what type of maintenance meds he requires to keep his allergies under control forever.

Comments: 3/22/10: Hi, My name is Diamond. I need to find a new home so let me tell you about myself.

I am 5 years old and I like kids and other dogs. I am an inside dog and housebroken. When my parents go to work I have free roam of the house and do fine. I know some basic commands and don't really have any bad habits. I sleep in the bed with my dad. Me and my brother need a new home, so look at Achillas also while visiting this site. We would like to stay together if possible, we are bonded and get along great. In the picture, I'm the cute little boxer on the left...that's my brother Achillas on the right.

Adopted: 7/18/10
FBR#: F10-123

Comments: Update 7/14/10: Dice is a wonderful boy who does not jump. He knows the commands for sit, down, and paw!! He is very attentive, and polite; he sits and waits to go outside and is excellent on a leash. Dice is learning his crate and goes in with a cookie or his food but does not need it. He would do good in a home with another companion big or small as he has lived with a smaller dog before.

See my new pictures! Inside snoozing or resting in the sunshine....I'm one good-looking fellow.

7/6/10: Dice has just gotten to his foster home; more to come as we get to know this boy.

Comments: 8/17/10: I am told that I am a very sweet boy! I know how to sit and shake, and I'm housebroken and give lots of hugs and boxer kisses. Since I am a bit on the thin side, my foster mom is working on putting weight on me as well as teaching me how to work better on a leash. My best friend is my sister, Sadie, who I want to be adopted with as we are SO very close. We sleep in the crate together and have never been apart, so I am not sure how I would be without her. When you first meet me, I get excited (don't all boxers?) and then I calm down once you are in the door. Please consider adopting me and Sadie as I know we will bring lots of love to your household.

Update 3/5/10: Dominic has been in his new foster home for a month and has really settled in. He has a clean bill of health and is loving life! Dominic plays great with his 9-month-old foster fur sister! He is the best of both worlds-- laid back and mature, but he likes to play and have fun with buddies! He has been great with other dogs and kids. He doesn't currently live with cats but has in the past and shows no interest out on walks. Dom would prefer a home that has plenty of free time to love on him! And one that is okay not crating him and letting him be loose. He makes a great companion! [more]

I have a baby, you can see it in my picture, everyone wants pictures of me when I have it. I like the cat my foster family has; I used to live with another Boxer, but he passed away. Foster Mom says I am going to meet a Boxer girl this weekend, I was told she is really nice. Foster Mom and Dad take me to the store a lot and I am a very good boy, I walk right next to them, when they stop, so do I. When the want to go, they just say "follow" and I follow them. 'Cause I'll tell you as soon as you take me home. You are going to take me home aren't you? Let me try to convince you. I love to play, I walk well on a leash and I am learning some basic commands (if you have treats). I think I would like to have a fur brother or sister to play with because my foster brothers are so much fun. I am curious about cats, or at least I've seen them and smelled them up close but I haven't made an opinion on whether I like them or not. Have I convinced you yet? Well, let these guys know soon because I'm a hot item. So, what do you think about a perm? Yeah, that's what I thought too. Me in curls, ridiculous! Well maybe....OK talk to you soon.

Comments: 4/2/10: Hello, my name is Emmitt. I came to FBR because my family is losing their home. Lucky for me this great foster family took me in right away. I live here with 2 skin adults, a 7-year-old skin pal. (I Love Him.) I also live with a little fur sister and a cat. My little fur sister does not like to play very often because my foster mommy says she's an old girl. As for the kitty, I like to chase her sometimes. My foster mommy says I'm a wonderful little boy. She says for the most part I listen very well. I have my momments! I love to go for long walks, and I also learned how to ride a bike (still not sure how I feel on that). After dinner I get to go to a big open field where my skin brother hides from me and I get to find him! I love that game. [more]

Adopted: 5/18/10
FBR#: F10-085

Comments: 5/12/10: We don't know where Enzo started his life, but about 1.5 years ago, when he walked up to a woman's car, he was skin and bones and had a scar around his neck from where a collar or rope had been embedded there. He also had scratches and scars all over. The woman immediately brought him to the vet to get him fixed up and found out he was also heartworm positive, so she had that treated last June. It's now been over six months and he's ready to be neutered. Six months ago, while Enzo was living with his family, they had a baby. Enzo was good with him and also with the resident female Pitt Bull and Teacup Chihuahua. They say he likes small dogs better than big dogs. And he has taken chase when seeing other dogs out on his walks so his leash training needs work! [more]

Adopted: 7/10/10

Comments: 6/23/10: Gandy was found running loose in Tampa. He was flea-infested and extremely underweight but still had a positive attitude and was happy to get some water and canned dog food! He was placed in the car and taken immediately to the vet where the first order of business was a flea-bath. He's now being treated for internal parasites and getting prepped for heartworm treatment and neutering. He has been a sweetheart to everyone at the vet's office and seems fine with other dogs; however, he did not pass the 'cat test' so no cats! His first picture is of him riding from Tampa to the vet--it shows just how hot and exhausted he was. The next picture is the following day, at the vet's office and you can see he already felt much better after his flea bath! His next pictures will show that he's gaining weight and getting healthier every day! This sweet boy got off to a rough start in life and now he's ready for a home with a loving family.

I am shy right now until I get to know you. I was so uncomfortable today and the ladies tried helping me by giving me a capstar to kill my fleas. We had to stop again because they were so bad, but my new foster home gave me a bath and the fleas are all gone. Yahooo - do I feel alive again. I have a bed, food, toys and a new life.

Peoples - remember flea and tick and heartworm prevention can prevent alot of heartache.

He is very loyal.

Also, my foster mom had a friend over and I got to make friends with her two boxers. It took me a while to calm down from all the excitement but when I did I used good doggie manners. On walks I am not sure what to think of small dogs yet, and I am veryyy curious about them. Squirrels don't bother me a bit though. I am now allowed to roam the house when my foster parents leave and have done fine with that so far but I still sleep in my crate. We're both Heartworm positive, which is very expensive. Thankfully, we're with Florida Boxer Rescue now and we'll be healthy in a couple of months. The vet techs at East Orlando Animal Hospital call me a gentle giant. I have to learn some manners, and my foster mommy is already teaching me not to jump. I like to run fast! I've made a great track around my foster mom's back yard - whew - watch me go! My foster mom says I run like a greyhound, whatever that is. I would love to have a family that would take me for a run every day. I have lots of puppy energy. [more]

I'd really like to set the record straight - I do not weigh 90 pounds - I'm currently at 72 pounds, but I believe I have lost a few with the feeding schedule my new Mom has put me on. I tested positive for hook worms and heartworms, so I'm currently under the vet's treatment. My foster family is taking great care of me. I am a love bunny and look like a gazelle when I move around the backyard (yes I am walking due to heartworm treatment)...I look so pretty ;-) I really dislike crates. My foster mom says I really don't need one because I'm such a good girl and not destructive at all (except the trash when no one is looking). 4/28/10: I have a "New Leash on Life"! FBR came to my rescue today. My name is Jin and let me tell you a little about me. My story is sad like some of the other FBR boxers; I was bred many times just to have puppies to make money for my owner. I used to have a beautiful shape and nothing sagging, but now I am skinny and need to put on 20 pounds or more. If you saw the pictures of me, you would cry. I look like some of those animal cruelty cases. I always had to be on the defensive side and defend myself. FBR has promised to make me beautiful again and find me a loving home. I can't wait. Please think of me. Thank you!

My foster mom wants me to bring them back but I just want to chase them. I have successfully joined the pack at my foster home with 2 boxer girls and one big boxer boy. We get along great now but they are senior boxers and don't like to play as hard as I do. I have put on weight and look fabulous now! I am very good about letting you know if I need to go outside to potty or if I need anything. I like to cuddle but if I get too hot I will go and lay down by myself. My foster mom has started to take me on long walks and I love to sniff around and discover the world outside the back yard. I have not met any skin kids yet on our walks so I haven't determined yet if they are cool or not. I am ready for a forever home with someone who is active and can help me exhaust some energy! You can call me JoJo, that's what my foster parents call me. Of couse they also call me cling-on & shadow. I love to be with people. It has been a wild couple of months. I had to have a portion of my toe removed but you sure can't tell as it never slowed me down. The good news is it was not cancer but the result of a past trauma. My foster brothers are still trying to teach me how to play with toys, I am slowly getting it but if my foster parents look at me I drop the toy. I follow my brothers around constantly and mimic everything they do. I would love for my fur ever home to have another boxer to play with. I am good with kids, cats not so much. I am crate trained for when no human is home but love to sleep with my humans & foster brothers. I can snore with the best of them. I hope somebody will fall in love with me now that my foster parents were able to snap a picture of me. [more]

My name is Juliette and I'm ALL puppy. Even though I barely have any fur right now due to Demodex mange, I still wiggle and play and have tons of energy. I will need a foster home that will be able to give me medicine daily and probably baths a couple times a week until my fur grows back. He lost his first owner when he had to move from a house to an apartment. Then a nice neighbor took him in, but it turned out to be too much while caring for her young grandchildren. I told Kaiser "third time's a charm" so his next home will be his fur-ever home! Here's Kaiser's dream family: no children under 13 [he plays hard and can knock little ones down], enough time for AM and PM play and exercise sessions, and immediate enrollment in obedience training. Comments: Update 4/27/10: Kayla here! If there ever was a boxer who fit the phrase "life of the party" it would be me. In fact, once I find my fur-ever home I hope to remake the video "Girls Just Want to Have Fun". I am always a very happy girl who is ready to play. I get along great with kids, cats and other dogs. Fortunately, I am a white boxer who has my hearing. I do need a family that will lead me and teach me the ropes. I am doing great at learning how to curb my enthusiasm. I hope you will continue reinforcing what I have worked so hard to learn. Add me to your family and I promise you lots of fun, kisses, and most importantly lifelong companionship. As you look through the available boxers on the site, please pause and imagine me as a member of your family. [more]

Update 3/6/10: Kayla here...I'm adding some videos of me for you to enjoy!

This is me at group play ~ And this is me outside ~ And here I am at playtime

Kismet is a beautiful little white boxer with a brown spot in the middle of the top of his head. His nub is also brown. He loves to play in the yard with his brother and foster sister, Zoe. Comments: Update 5/27/10: If you are looking for a Boxer boy to be your companion for running, rollerblading, playing in the back yard* – guess what? You’ve found me! I love all humans big and small, but for some reason, I just don’t care much for other dogs or cats. And, I do need someone to remind me about my manners, in case I forget. Even if I have to say so myself, I’m quite the handsome fellow and if you saw me on a leash you would think we were headed to Westminster! At the end of the day, I will curl up at your feet, give that big Boxer sigh, and all will be well in both our worlds. Please come and visit me – soon! [more]

Comments: 6/1/10: I was told that I'm adorable though they said I have a very long tongue...more to give sloppy kisses. Not quite sure where I am right now, but I am happy to see that I have a older brother to play with as well as two cats. Wow! Next week I am to be vetted to make sure that I will be ready for my forever home. I know I'll be a happy puppy as long as you walk me, let me play and teach me some commands, though I do know 'sit' and I do walk okay on a leash. Oh, I'm also pretty laid back for being a young girl. More to come as my foster parents get to know me.

Comments: 5/28/10: My brother Brett and I grew up together having come from the same litter. We live with other animals including a bird and a cat. My mother says I love to play and run through the backyard with Brett. I am told I love everyone and am a snuggler. I have had some obedience training but still pull on a leash. I think I can learn better easily with more help from a new mom or dad. I prefer to stay with my brother, but I can go on my own with the right family. Are you mine?

I'm getting neutered in December and then I'm ready to go! Please read all about me; FBR and my foster home have taken such good care of me, but the time is getting near for me to find my own forever home.

Comments: 4/16/10: Hello everyone! My name is Libby. I am one energetic little boxer girl. Before I joined Florida Boxer Rescue, my original family left me in a crate after they moved. When Animal Control found me I was malnourished and dehydrated. Thankfully they saved me just in time and now all I need is a little weight and you'd never know about my previous life! My new friends at FBR say I need some basic training. I know "sit," but I can learn so much more if you teach me! I liked all the dogs at the vet's office when I was there and I wanted to give the kids I met kisses. I'm probably a little too hyper for smaller children, though. Not sure I know what a cat is, but if I meet one I'll be sure to report back to ya. Other than that, I'm ready to go! I was just spayed so all I need is a foster home, or even better, a furever home! Come meet me and I'm sure I'll win you over!

Comments: 4/13/10: Linus is a sweet, playful boy. He rides well in the car and gets along with our female boxer. He is familiar with a crate and he seems like he is house trained. He was a good boy while he got his bath. He played with the towel and finally fell asleep with it. We don't know what his name is so we dubbed him"Linus." He doesn't seem to be food agressive. He knows a few basic commands like "sit." Linus is underweight. We'll know more about his health after his vet appointment. For now, Linus is full of happy wiggles and slurps!

Lucky is proving to be a great dog, very smart, learns fast, good natured, big old goof. He is huge, meaning very tall and soon to weigh about 80 lbs. He loves everyone! He has a skin condition right now that is clearing up nicely with antibiotics. He is completely vetted and ready to find his new home.

I have no idea how long I was on my own, I can't remember, but I do know I didn't get enough to eat and some people weren't very nice to me when I wandered onto their property. I'm sorry, I was only looking for some food and a warm place to sleep. Now I am with Florida Boxer Rescue and I'm in a wonderful foster home that gave me my beautiful name and is giving me lots of love, good food and a safe, warm place to sleep. They found out at the shelter that I have some nasty things called heartworms that have to be treated. I hear that isn't fun, but they tell me it is important. I go to see the doctor soon to get my treatment started, then I will be well again. Thank you, Love Lucy

After meeting so many people and so many dogs, Max has taught us a few things: 1. Max needs to be with a submissive female or as an only dog. 2. Max would love someone who stays at home for most of the day, but can be left alone if routines for leaving the house are established and maintained. 3. Max is fabulous around children, but not so fabulous around cats. 4. Max counts on his daily walks (or runs) for exercise. Adopted: 4/20/10

Comments: 1/20/10: Missy is a very loving and playful Boxer. She is 6 years old but still acts like a puppy:) She plays ball with her foster brother and sister, will give you her paw, and knows how to sit and catch treats. Missy loves to be near people but will not get on the couch or bed. She is crate trained but does love to be given treats as an award to go inside:) If a man starts to play with her and then stops, Missy runs up to him and tugs his pant legs to get his attention so he'll continue to play! It is so funny:) Missy will be starting heartworm treatment soon. Missy is on the left in both pictures.

Missy seems to be adjusting well to being part of a family. Will you be her FOREVER family?? She hopes so!

Comments: 4/16/10: My name is Molly, and two months ago I was abandoned. I sat in a shelter for a month before FLBR found me and gave me another chance. I have a wonderful foster brother and sister, and my foster mom says I am the perfect little boxer girl. I get along with everybody and usually kiss all my dog friends when we meet. I love to sleep on the bed with my mom, and I give boxer kisses to all my humans. Mom says I am the most affectionate boxer she has ever met. Did I tell you I am a lap dog?? I LOVE toys and am very good at finding the ones on the bottom of the toy box.

Mom says I can't run and play (boy that is a challange!) because I am being treated for buggie bugs in my heart. I feel great, and I'll be all better soon. If you have a ball and a lap, I am your girl.

I also get along with little people. The thing I miss most from my other home is a fur sister to play with, so if you have another dog, I would love that. My foster Dad says I have the best disposition (whatever that means). If you are looking for an easy-going boy, please come and meet me. I hope you have a place for me in your family.

Comments: Update 8/8/10: Murphy is a wonderful girl. She has never had an accident in the house nor has she chewed or destroyed anything. She stays lose in the house all day - no crate needed. Murphy needs an energetic family that will spend time with her and play, as she loves to play. She is fine with other dogs and the neighbor behind the foster family has 8 cats and she is not interested.

Murphy's in great health and very loving!

7/12/10: Hi, I'm Murphy! I've been told I'm a beautiful mahoghany girl that is in great shape! My muscle-toned body is sleek and shiny and my tail is strong, so when I wag it... well, I need to be around older kids so I won't accidently hurt them. I can't help my excitement at being out of traffic. I have good manners in my temporary home. I just wish I had my own place to be loved in forever.

We are unsure of cats or dogs but do suggest older kids because of her tail. More info to come from foster home.

Todd has also worked with the family and Ollie as she needed better boundaries and better leadership to not feel the need to protect her family all the time. Mission accomplished!

5/18/10: Osha came out of Lee County today. He is super skinny but is so sweet... and a leaner. He rode great in the crate and slept during the two hour trip. He will be learning leash walking 101. Petee loves everyone, was raised with cats and his foster family knows he’ll make a wonderful family member. He so loves carrying around a rope toy or something while doing his boxer wiggle. Petee’s very loving. His foster family is working to put a little weight on him as he’s skinny, but he’s really enjoying that!

4/9/10: Petee is a sweet boxer boy who was surrendered due to landlord issues. He is house trained and crate trained. Petee was raised with a cat and is doing fine with the boxer foster siblings. Randy is a beautiful and friendly young boy that was surrendered because his Dad is re-entering the military and will be shipped out in August. Randy was raised with a cat. He is a typical 16-month-old boy with lots of energy, and he needs someone to give him some exercise and attention. He will pick out a toy and run around the house and entertain himself with the toy for several minutes and when he's done, he lays down. He doesn't pester you to play, but will bring you the toy if you call him. He loves to get out in the back yard and run around. He loves to chase after a toy and is working on bringing it back. He loves his crate and often while I am working on the computer he will go lay down in his crate. He is still working on understanding that people coming into the home are friends and you don't have to be nervous, but will still need reassurance from his FUR ever home. Comments: Update 6/15/10: Rio's on a mission: she wants her fur-ever home!! Is she persnickety? Persnickety as defined by Webster's is overparticular; fussy. Yes, she is. But a girl can be particular when picking her friends can't she? Rio met a 2-year-old male boxer and they were instant friends; she even shared her food and water with him. However, she's not like that with every dog she meets. She's been friends with an American Bulldog and a Chihuahua, but not so much with a German Shephard puppy and a Great Dane.

If you have another dog, please give Rio a chance and ask about setting up a meeting. If you don't have any other dogs, Rio is an excellent human companion. She's calm in the house, completely house-trained and used to being crated 8-9 hours a day. She'd love to go on daily walks or runs with you and we all need that exercise-buddy don't we?

Rio's waiting to hear from you so please call soon!

Rock-O enjoys cuddling on the couch or in bed. He is housebroken and there is no need to crate him. When Rock-O gets excited he likes to do the boxer wiggle and jump around. He also enjoys car rides with the windows open. Though small for his age, Rock-O is big in heart and love. He loves people and likes to have any attention that he can. [more]

Adopted: 1/17/10
FBR#: F09-149

Comments: Update 12/20/09: Rocky came to live with me back in September and has been an absolute joy. He is about 7 years old, well mannered, house broken and just a truly handsome boy. He knows not to get on any of the furniture, will not jump on people and doesn’t even beg for food.

Rocky was raised since a puppy with another female boxer until he came to Florida Boxer Rescue back in September. Since then, he has lived with my 5-year-old female boxer, and the two of them have done fine together and love to play tug of war and catch each night in the living room. Although he came to us with heartworms, this has since been treated and other than taking it a little easy for the next couple months, he is a super healthy boy. [more]

I'll be learning a few things while in my foster home - the normal things that every puppy needs to know, such as sit, stay, shake, come, down, and all that good stuff. Stay tuned for more info from my foster family.

He is a hefty 74 pounds now and still just as active. We have converted him from sleeping with us to sleeping on his own pillow. One of his quirks...he loves to growl at me when I am on the computer. I guess he is saying "mom, get off that thing and play with me" He is so silly! He loves to have his tummy rubbed and his favorite thing in the whole wide world is his giant Kong with peanut butter in it. He will go and stand in his crate and wait for me to deliver the kong.
Rosco will be at the Boxer Bash. Please come say hi.

Comments: Update 11/17/09: Hi everybody, Stella Rose here. Yes I know that is quite a name but there is a story behind it. You see, when I was born two years ago to FLBR Minnie Me, my foster grandma called me Rose; when I was adopted, my new family called me Stella. I was returned to FLBR because my family has fallen on hard times and is unable to take care of me, so I am now back with my foster grandma, Lori, who has decided to keep the name Stella so as not to confuse me, but still loves the name Rose, so voila! Stella Rose.

I am 2 years and 3 months old and was one of a litter of seven. When I was born my foster grandma took extra special care to make sure that all of us pups were happy and secure in the world we were born into. [more]

Comments: Update 1/18/10: For 3 years Roxie was in a crate or on a chain while her owner worked 13 hours a day. She had little bonding or attention, no boundaries, little socialization, and no training. But her foster family has done wonders with her. Roxie is a tiny, petite little girl with the cutest little face you have ever seen on a full grown boxer. She stands about 18 inches at the shoulder, with a perfect litle boxer body. Although she is three, Roxie acts and plays like a one year old. She is learning boundaries, obeys and is bonded to her foster mother, likes people, LOVES her fur siblings and LOVES to play non-stop all day. At night she cuddles up in a recliner and sleeps in a crate next to the other two dogs. She gets along well with kids about 8 to 10 years or older, but she hasn't been around younger kids. [more]

She very much loves her humans and likes to be with you, but she also goes in her crate when it's time for us to go to work. She sleeps all night in her crate with the door open. Sada will let you know when she needs to go outside by ringing a string of bells by the door. She rides very nice in the car, but please make sure you spell R-I-D-E, cuz she knows what it means. Did I forget to mention she maybe white, but she hears everything! She walks on a leash and is learning not to pull, she is also learning that when people come over you have to give them space so they can come in. She used to live with another male Boxer. Sada will blend into your home very quickly.

The lady that rescued me meant well, but did not know that beautiful Boxers like myself are supposed to be pampered and should live inside with my family. Another Boxer lover saved me from the snow and cold and brought me on a long car ride to Florida. She has lived with other dogs and can learn to get along with them if given enough time. They said I had no attention span and needed lots of direction, but my foster mom set my rules and that was all it took. She says she has never seen such a gentleman. I walk perfectly on a heel while on my leash, sit and stay when asked and NEVER jump on anybody. I even know what 'easy' and 'wait' means. I am very respectful around all the kids in the neighborhood (haven't met any toddlers yet though) and sit while they pet me. * Zeus prefers female dogs...guess he's a ladies man!
