Miss Casey is doing well in her new home; she no longer weighs 39 pounds...she now weighs almost 60 pounds and has a new best friend ...Chloie Ann the hound. She had another new best friend upon her arrival home but, her friend Runt has since passed. And what would pictures be if she didn't show you her Halloween outfit and sitting in front of her Christmas tree waiting for presents.!"

Submitted on May 16, 2010:     Adopter:   Patsy and Jonathan   Boxer's Name:   Sketch AKA Stretch (2008)

We adopted our handsome boy Sketch in July 2008, at nearly 3 years old. We had this idea that our older girl Boxer, Moxie, who was approaching 9 at the time, would like some company since her best Playmate ever, our son Brock, grew up and moved out. The first time we met Sketch' we fell in love with this boy and hoped our Moxie would too. Well, she wasn’t too sure of him at first, and was wondering why he was staying at her house. She quickly let him know she was the queen bee but he weaseled his way into her heart and she showed this youngster the ropes and now they are inseparable.

At 65 pounds, the perfect lap dog. Yeah Right! ;-) At least he thinks so.

Sketch loves to go for car rides and as soon as he sees his life jacket come out, he knows he is going boating and boy does he ever start singing and dancing. He is not to keen on the swimming thing like Moxie but as long as he can sight see, sun bath, sit on your lap or just look handsome, he is loving life!

Thank you FBR for bringing such joy to our life by finding Sketch.

"It's almost been a year since we adopted Junior [4/10/09 came into FBR as Bozo]. Thought I would send you a pic so you can see them. They were helping (?) us rake some leaves :). The Doctor put Junior on a diet because he was getting kind of chunky. He is now eating his vegetables! Ruby Tuesday [adopted 8/7/09] still loves sleeping with the boys and Junior loves to steal our blankets. They have brought so much joy to us! Thanks again for all you do for the boxers and thanks for bringing these great pups to us!!"

Submitted on October 3, 2009:     Adopter:   Addisons   Boxer's Name:   Dixie (2004)

"Greetings from the Addisons! My name is Dixie and I came to live with my new family in 2004. I am having lots of fun, but I stay awfully busy! I have 2 little sisters who love to lay on me, pull on me and squeeze me. (They're making me go gray!) One of them is 3 and the other is almost 9 months old. They're really cute and I LOVE them, but like I said- it's lots of work protecting them, entertaining them and warning mom and dad when they're up to no good. Not to mention cleaning up under their high chairs! Whew!

My interests include boat riding, road trips, chasing squirrels and of course gazing out the window from my favorite spot on the couch. I really want a playmate to grow old with and mommy "shops around" on FLBR all the time, but Daddy says we need to wait til we have a bigger house. Ahh...one day!! That's all the news so I guess we'll see you around!"

Slurps to all,
Dixie

Submitted on September 22, 2009:     Boxer's Name:   Spooky (2004)

It is almost 5 years since we adopted Spooky. She is a special part of our family. Two years ago, we lost our cat after 19 years and Spooky was lonely so we added another Boxer, Gingy, to our family. It is true, Boxers are like potato chips, you cannot stop at one. Spooky gets lots of love and attention from our children, Anthony and Jo Anna, as well as her fur sister Gingy. Spooky likes to go for car rides, walks and to visit her Aunt Linda at the beach. Every year she is the star of our Christmas cards. She even got to go to the water park at CB Smith Park, in Pembroke Pines. She is an amazing dog.

I LOVE my new Mommy and Daddy, they have given me the best home a pup could ask for. In the past year I have learned to shake, laydown, rollover and speak. My old parents got rid of me because I was an escape artist. So more importantly, I have learned to stay in my backyard (and the 2 neighbors yards) without a leash! My Mommy takes me for walks twice a day. As soon as I see her put her tennis shoes on, I get sooo excited. I have a very nice bed but most of the time I prefer the couch. I have a cousin Snickers whom I get along with very well, we like playing tug of war. Overall, I could not have asked for a better family. My Mommy and Daddy are so thankful that they could give me a good home, they give me tons of love-ins and I just eat it up! Thanks FBR for finding my forever family!
